You can shop for the books below at our bookshop!

The Awkward Age by Francesca Segal

Julia Alden has fallen deeply, unexpectedly in love. American obstetrician James is everything she didn't know she wanted--if only her teenage daughter, Gwen, didn't hate him so much. Uniting two households is never easy, but when Gwen turns for comfort to James's seventeen-year-old son, Nathan, the consequences will test her mother's loyalty and threaten all their fragile new happiness.

We recommend this book because it is a very smart and compelling story. It talks about the complexities of modern families while being witty and hilarious. It has drama and humor and it will capture you and keep you turning pages.

Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Everyone knows DAISY JONES & THE SIX, but nobody knows the reason behind their split at the absolute height of their popularity . . . until now.

We recommend this book because it is full of complex and compelling characters. You will be instantly fascinated by all of them, but especially Daisy Jones. It is beautifully written and it is witty and charming. You will not be able to put down the book once you start it.

In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez

It is November 25, 1960, and the bodies of three beautiful, convent-educated sisters have been found near their wrecked Jeep at the bottom of a 150-foot cliff on the north coast of the Dominican Republic. El Caribe, the official newspaper, reports their deaths as an accident. It does not mention that a fourth sister lives. Nor does it explain that the sisters were among the leading opponents of Gen. Raphael Leonidas Trujillo's dictatorship. It doesn't have to. Everyone knows of Las Mariposas - "The Butterflies."

We recommend this book because it is just a gorgeous novel. It is haunting and wonderful. It is a tale about courage and hope, but also about tragedy.

Collected Poems by Sylvia Plath

This collection contains a numbered sequence of the 224 poems written after 1956 together with a further 50 poems chosen from her pre-1956 work. The aim of this collection is to bring Sylvia Plath's poetry together in one volume, including the various uncollected and unpublished pieces, and to set everything in as true a chronological order as is possible so that the whole progress and achievement of this unusual poet will become accessible to readers.

If you're looking to read something different, Sylvia Plath's poetry is perfect for you. If you have never read any of her works, you should definitely give them a chance. You will not regret it.
